Terncy Switch Module Usages
Recommended usage scenario of Terncy switch module.
Usage scenario 1: use with presence sensor
Any sensor with dry contact can be used with the switch module
How to connect
1.Connect L and N line, connect L line to L, N line to N;
* Note: Power off during installation to prevent electric shock
2.Remove the cover of the interface, insert the 6-pin header into the interface firmly;
* 12V is positive pole and GND is negative pole
3.Select a presence sensor with dry contact signal;
* V is the positive pole, G is the negative pole, and ① and ② are two dry nodes
4.Connect the presence sensor to the switch module;
* The positive and negative poles of the sensor are connected with the positive and negative poles of the switch module
* The sensor dry contacts terminals are connected to the switch module input terminal 1 or 2
5.After all the above operations are completed, the wiring part is completed.
How to configure
1.Enter the details page of the switch module, tap Button 1 or Button 2 to enter the configuration page, set the switch type to “Rocker switch” and enable the programmable switch;
How to setup automation
If you are using switch module with hardware version 1, then please note:
If your sensor dry node is connected to the switch module input terminal 1, then you need to select input 2 to set the following automation;
If your sensor dry node is connected to the switch module input terminal 2, then you need to select input 1 for the following automation.
1.In the Terncy app, choose the “Automation” tab in the bottom navigation bar;
2.Tap the “➕” button in the upper right corner, choose the “ If…Then…” option;
3.Tap the “➕” button on the right side of the add condition, choose the switch module in the order of “Input 1 - Single click - Reverse”, and tap “Complete”;
4.Tap the “➕” button on the right side of the add actions, choose the required light, and tap “Complete” to save the automation;
* This automation means that when the human presence sensor senses someone, turn on the light and set the brightness to 100%
5.Create a “Input 1 - Single click - Original” condition and a “turn off the power” action in the same way;
* This automation means that turn off the light when the human presence sensor cannot senses someone
After all the above operations are completed, the presence sensor can be used with the switch module
Usage scenario 2: update legacy switch
The switch type supports “Rocker” and “Button”
1.Connect L and N line, connect L line to L, N line to N;
* Note: Power off during installation to prevent electric shock
2.Connect input terminal, connect two routes of lines to S1 and S2 respectively;
3.Connect output terminal, connect L and IN with the attached wire, and connect L1 and L2 to the devic;
4.Install the Switch Module behind the switch panel;
5.In the Terncy app, choose the “Room” tab in the bottom navigation bar;
6.Tap the “Add” button in the upper right corner, choose “Add accessory”;
7.When the switch module is powered on, the device will be found after 3 secs;
* If the accessory needs to set up again, you can quickly press the button switch 10 times in 4 secs, or press the rocker switch 5 times in 2 secs;
8.Enter the details page of the switch module, tap Button 1 or Button 2 to enter the configuration page, and choose the required switch type;
After all the above operations are completed, the ordinary switch has become smart
Usage scenario 3: use with infrared radiation sensor
How to connect
1.Connect L and N line, connect L line to L, N line to N;
2.The infrared radiation sensor are connected to the switch module input terminal S1 and S2;
3.The light strip are connected to the switch module output terminal L1 and L2;
4.Each switch module contains two inputs and outputs, and one switch module can support two light strips.
How to configure
1.Enter the details page of the switch module, tap Button 1 and Button 2 to enter the configuration page;
2.Set the switch type to “Rocker switch” and “Output state”, disable the programmable switch and interlock.
After all the above operations are completed, the infrared radiation sensor can be used with the switch module
Usage scenario 4: use with window opener
How to connect
1.Connect L and N line, connect L line to L, N line to N, the neutral line of the window opener is connected to N;
2.Connect output terminal, connect L and IN with the attached wire, and connect L1 and L2 to the window opener;
3.After all the above operations are completed, the wiring part is completed.
How to remotely control the window opener
1.In the Terncy app, choose the “Room” tab in the bottom navigation bar;
2.Tap the “Add” button in the upper right corner, choose “Add accessory”;
3.When the switch module is powered on, the device will be found after 3 secs;
* If the accessory needs to set up again, you can quickly press the button switch 10 times in 4 secs, or press the rocker switch 5 times in 2 secs;
4.Enter the details page of the switch module, tap Button 1 and Button 2 to enter the configuration page, and enable the interlock.
After all the above operations are completed, the window opener can be controlled remotely
Application scenario of window opener
It can work with some sensors through automation. When the home center receives an alarm reminder, it will open the window at the first time.
