Reset light with Smart Dial
The default way to reset Terncy smart light is by power on and off the light 6 times, and each time turning off the light should be longer than 5 seconds. It’s not easy to do right. So we provide a new, easier way to do so by using a smart dial.
Note: Make sure the firmware version of Smart Dial is newer than 37
How to use this feature
Operate while the Smart Dial is as close as possible to the smart light;
Quickly tap the Smart Dial button 6 times, and hold the button for 3 seconds, the LED on Smart Dial will blink, continue hold till 5 seconds, the light starts blinking, indicates the light is going to be reset;
Keep holding the button for another 5 seconds till the light blinks faster, now the light is reset and can be paired again;
If the light started blinking in step 2 isn’t the one desired to reset, release the button within 4 seconds, the reset operation is cancelled;
Q&A
Q1: Can not trigger the light to blink and reset with Smart Dial
A1: It’s possible that the light isn’t paired to any Home Center. Smart Dial can only reset light that is already in a network, no matter of the light is online or offline.
A light that isn’t paired to any network, will scan and pair to an available network automatically, so there is no need to reset it.
Q2: A light has already paired to a Home Center, but still can not be triggerd to blink and reset with Smart Dial
A2: It’s possible that the Smart Dial and the light are paired to different network. If Smart Dial is paired to a network different from the network that the light is paired to, this feature won’t work. If this is the case, try removing the Smart Dial from its network in the Terncy App or pressing and holding its button for 8 seconds. After the Smart Dial is removed from its network, it will be able to reset the light.
Q3: The blinking light is not the one desired to reset
A3: If the light started blinking isn’t the one desired to reset, release the button within 4 seconds since the light starts blinking, the reset operation is cancelled;
